I am a proud native of South Texas and have lived in San Antonio since 2009. I am a wife, mother and dog owner. In addition to my practice, I also work at the University of the Incarnate Word as an adjunct faculty member and as a provider for Veterans Evaluation Services.
In September of 2015, my husband, also a psychologist, and I opened López, Newman & Associates. I am returning to full time work after spending the last three years raising our son. With mother added to my list of roles, I am returning to psychotherapy with a new set of experiences and skills to apply to the therapeutic process.
Regarding my formal training, I received my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2010. I completed my bachelor’s degree with a major in Psychology at Chapman University in 2005.
My clinical experiences span San Antonio and Chicago. I completed both my Postdoctoral Fellowship and Internship at San Antonio State Hospital. In Chicago, I trained at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Elgin Mental Health Center, and the Center for Applied Psychology and Forensic Studies. I also completed the Fellowship Program at the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis.
